The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, has replaced the CrPC, and for a Police SI PSC examination, this is arguably the most practical part of the syllabus. I will cover the critical sections in the BNSS for the upcoming Kerala PSC Police Sub Inspector Main examination.
According to research conducted at the GJR Institute, the Kerala PSC Police SI question paper will include five questions from BNSS. These 5 marks cover the "how-to" of policing (arrests, searches, and investigations).

How To Study BNSS (Procedural Law) For Kerala PSC Sub Inspector of Police Main Examination?
Cinju Haneefa, a student at GJR Institute, from Beemapally, asked this question. Let me explain how to plan your BNSS preparation.

The Digital Shift: Pay close attention to Section 2(a) and Section 105. The BNSS mandates the use of audio-video electronic means for recording searches and seizures. This is a massive change from the CrPC, and a very likely SI mains exam question.
Zero FIR: Let me share another critical section in BNSS for your upcoming Police SI mains exam. While implicitly practiced before, the formalization of information technology in investigations (Section 173) is a key area for SI candidates.
Arrest Rights: Section 38 (Right to meet an advocate) and Section 58 (The 24-hour rule) remain fundamental, but you should check for the slight wording changes in the new Sanhita.
